Club Regency grew out of the Friendship Club, the original social club in Guernsey City, and dates back to February 1956, when the Friendship House was completed.  At that time, membership was mandatory--a quarter per month. The Cheer Club also began at that time.  Dues helped pay for cards and flowers for residents who became ill, or passed away.  In the late 1950s, the monthly potluck suppers began; they continue today, with entertainment, more than 50 years later. Winter potlucks draw nearly 200 residents.  Club Regency also holds dances, a Trash and Treasures sale, and provides trips and cruises. To check out our activities, visit our blog at http://clubregency.blogspot.com

The Yacht Club was formed in 1993, under the direction of George Courchesne as its first Commodore.  The original charter members donated a small sum to establish the club which flourishes today under the motto "Just Have Fun!"  The Yacht Club is active for 8 months with lunches, dances, and trips. The current Commodore is Warren Mansfield.

The Summer Bunch plans exciting parties during our quiet summer months. Parties, picnics, and  jam sessions are just a few of the scheduled events this lively bunch hosts. There is always live music and the Regency Ramblers are generally center stage, with other music groups in the park. These are do-not-miss events for the residents. Betty Ridge and Tim Reynolds are the ones to contact if you have any questions.

Bingo is played on Thursday nights at 7pm.  A very popular game in Regency Cove, it depends on a large number of volunteers who serve as callers, bankers, card sellers, and verifyers.  So bring your daubers to the hall on Thursdays and have a lot of fun. Closed for the summer!  For more information, call Shirley Zyks .

Bid Euchre is played every Sunday evening year-round starting at 7:00pm.  We have a fun time each Sunday night playing this great card game.  If you are interested in playing with us, sign up on the sheet in the Information Room each week.  If you have never played Bid Euchre, join us to observe play for a couple of weeks, especially in the summer months, when we will help you learn the game.  Any questions, call Mary Willsey.

Euchre is a similar card game that is played every Wednesday evening at 7pm.  In the summer, we usually have five to six tables of four, and in the winter we have had as many as 14 tables.  Instructions will be given in the Fall. You must know how to play.  For new players instructions will be given in the Fall.  Sign up on the sheet on the "card" board in the Information Room. Cash is $2.00. You will be given a page of rules.  Contact is Helen Walker.

Bunco is a dice game that is played year-round every Tuesday at 7pm.  We average four tables (in summer it's usually three).  Bunco is a game of chance, not a game of skill, so you do not need to know in advance how to play. You just throw the dice (and hope for the best!).  We will teach you the rules. We have a great time!  Cash is $1.00. No sign-up is required. Just come for the fun.  Questions will be answered by Helen Walker or Bee Loomer.

Duplicate Bridge is played Monday afternoons under the direction of Ann Corley.  Partners play together for the afternoon.  Each team of partners plays the same hands, usually about 16 during the session.  The scores for each of the teams on the same hands are compared, and relative points are given.  A team gets a point each time they score better than another team playing the same hand.

Party Bridge is played Wednesday afternoons during the season.  Each player is assigned a number, and partners change  after four hands are played.  The player who has the highest score is the winner.  Each month a new volunteer oversees this game.  Sign-up sheets are in the Information Room.

The game of Three-Thirteen is played all year on Friday evenings at 7pm.  A variation of Rummy, the game has eleven rounds. Starting with three cards dealt, the last round consists of thirteen cards. The game also involves melds and a wild card.  For more information, contact Carole Hindman.

The Bowling League meets every Friday morning at the Pinarama Lanes on Dale Mabry Highway--at 9:30am in the winter and at 10:00am in the summer. Tournaments and other fun games are held during the winter season.  Call ahead to Chuck Paramore if you wish to participate.

Shuffling began back in 1955 when the park was called Guernsey City, and the Shuffleboard Club was formally organized in 1957.  By 1976 the park played in two leagues with other local mobile home parks.  One of these, the Friendship League, continues today.  In 1989, the Regency Cove shufflers joined the How-U-All League.  Competition stops in the summer months, but you can usually find a few people shuffling most any evening all summer. Stop by, if you have any questions, or contact Chet Hindman..

Regency Cove Golf Association, in existence since 1974, has two divisions:  the Regency Cove League that plays 18 holes every Monday, and the Dick Warp League that plays nine par-3 holes, also on Mondays.  Play is held at several area golf courses:  Babe Zaharias ("The Babe"), Rocky Point, and Rogers Park.  During the year the Association also sponsors a pancake breakfast, a cookout, and the annual golf banquet/awards dinner at the end of the season.  Sign up in the Information Room.  George Smith is the contact.
